For the Marination

  • 500g chicken
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon yogurt

For the Pepper Chicken Recipe

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 2-3 green chillies, slit
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 2-3 green cardamom pods
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped

How To Make Pepper Chicken Recipe

    • Mix chicken pieces with red chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, salt, and yoghurt in a bowl. Mix thoroughly and coat chicken evenly with marinade. Leave it out for 30 minutes or refrigerate it for a few hours for the best results.
    • In a deep pan with a heavy bottom, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds, fennel seeds, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and green cardamom pods. Sauté for a minute until they release their aroma.
    • Add the finely chopped onion and cook until it turns golden brown.

How To Make Pepper Chicken Gravy 

    • Pour in the water, reduce the heat, and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the Gravy thickens.
    • Finally, add fresh coriander leaves. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
